Supply chain sources indicate that the N1x chip, jointly developed by NVIDIA and MediaTek, will undergo NPI testing at the end of January next year. It is speculated that it will be unveiled at NVIDIA's GTC conference, which will bring new growth momentum to MediaTek's operations next year.

Nvidia is entering the AI PC market, with supply chain news pointing to new progress on the N1x SoC, developed in collaboration with MediaTek. NPI (New Product Introduction) is expected to take place by the end of January next year, with speculation circling the launch at Nvidia's GTC conference.

The chip is reportedly built using TSMC's 3nm process (N3B), similar to the GB10 chip architecture. Arm PCs, which use similar chips, have benefited from power-saving advantages and are experiencing rapid growth. As a pioneer, Qualcomm is optimistic about reaching a $4 billion market share by 2029 and welcomes the entry of more competitors to expand market penetration.

Supply chain sources revealed that Nvidia's N1 series chips have fallen short of market expectations due to Microsoft's operating system development. However, Microsoft's new Arm-based Windows operating system will be released in the fourth quarter of this year, and Nvidia is expected to successfully launch them in the first quarter of next year. OEMs believe that CES 2026 or the GTC conference are both possible timings, which will provide new growth momentum for MediaTek's operations next year.

Industry analysts believe that Nvidia's investment in Intel will have little impact on the development of Arm PCs in the short term, and that each product line will have its own distinct positioning. MediaTek's N1 series processors, derived from the GB10 processor, will target consumer applications, edge AI and inference requirements, while also offering low power consumption, making them suitable for future AI agent applications that are always online. Qualcomm has been a pioneer in the AI PC market for 15 months and is pleased to see more companies entering the market. Mandar Deshpande, Qualcomm's senior director of product management, believes this confirms the company's long-term development direction is correct. Long battery life and low power consumption will be key requirements for edge devices. Qualcomm has also taken the lead in collaborating closely with Microsoft on Copilot Plus PCs. This, coupled with deepening software partnerships, is expanding the ecosystem.

Targeting the enterprise PC market, Qualcomm has already deployed 16,000 laptops powered by its own processors internally and continues to collaborate with enterprise customers. Mandar Deshpande acknowledged that the enterprise market has long been characterized by fixed demand, but with the introduction of Arm PCs, this situation is undergoing a qualitative change. The launch of Qualcomm's X2 generation products is expected to generate even more positive market response.

In terms of process technology, Qualcomm maintains its leading strategy in mobile processors. Mandar Deshpande stated that the company will continue to utilize the most advanced process nodes and will continue to evaluate the most appropriate technology options for future generations.

As for the AI ASIC market, Qualcomm is also attempting to enter it, becoming a partner in the NVLink Fusion ecosystem. It is competing fiercely with MediaTek across multiple product lines, and the battle is shifting from the edge to the cloud, aiming for dominance in AI.

While the partnership between Nvidia and MediaTek has garnered significant attention, TSMC, the primary wafer foundry for the two tech giants, is expected to hold an earnings conference on October 16th, further attracting market attention.
