Qualcomm announced last year that it would acquire Autotalks. But in February this year, the British Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) stated that it would launch an investigation into the acquisition, which was worth approximately US$350 million.
Qualcomm stated that "Qualcomm has terminated its acquisition of Autotalks due to the failure to obtain regulatory approvals in a timely manner. The automotive industry is a very important area for Qualcomm, and we remain fully committed to our product roadmap, customers and partners."
Recently, under the pressure of the British antitrust regulator, many mergers and acquisitions have been canceled. The largest and most important of them is the merger of Adobe and Figma. The two parties were supposed to merge with a transaction volume of US$20 billion, but due to the European and pressure from British regulators, the merger was canceled in December.
